File

Ivy Tech Community College and Deaconess Health have joined forces for a medical assistant program in Evansville, IN

Ivy Tech has announced a program and a partnership to help meet the health care needs of Southwest Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The community college in Evansville says a new Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program will start this summer.

Also, Deaconess Health System will provide space on its Midtown campus for classes and clinical work-based learning opportunities for students.

Ivy Tech Chancellor Daniela Vidal says the program and the partnership will create a local pathway for students to enter high-demand healthcare careers.

Deaconess Indiana Region President Dr. Brad Scheu says the health system is pleased to expand its partnership with Ivy Tech and is “proud to support the education and training of the next generation of caregivers in our community.”
