The Henderson County School District will expand its preschool program this fall. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The district says it will add the program to four elementary schools: A.B. Chandler, Cairo, Niagara, and Spottsville.
The program is currently available at the Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center.
Officials say preschool programs will operate on a full-day schedule, Monday through Thursday.
The school district notes this year marks a special milestone, as the Class of 2026 will include the first group of students who attended preschool at the Early Learning Center.
Superintendent Bob Lawson says by expanding the program, the district is “making sure more students get the early learning they need.”
