The state of Illinois will hold a series of "rapid response workshops" for employees who lost jobs when Champion Labs closed in Albion

The state of Illinois is offering resources for residents affected by the sudden closure of Champion Labs in Albion. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The state’s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity says it will host “rapid response workshops” for impacted employees  March 5th through the 9th  at Frontier Community College in Fairfield.

Attendees will receive information about career counseling, job search assistance, education and job retraining opportunities, and unemployment insurance.

An estimated one-thousand employees lost their jobs when First Brands shut down the Champion plant this week.

The long-time automotive filter manufacturer filed for bankruptcy last month.

More information on the workshops is available here.
