$2 Million Gift to Boost Chemistry at UE

The University of Evansville says a $2 million gift from Barbara J. Kolb Price will strengthen UE's chemistry program

A two-million dollar bequest will boost chemistry education at the University of Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

UE says the gift from Evansville native Barbara J. Kolb Price will establish an endowed faculty chair in the university's Robert and Judy Decker Wargel Department of Chemistry.

UE says the two-million dollar endowment will support the retention of distinguished faculty, encourage innovation in the classroom, and elevate student success and achievement within the chemistry department.

Price graduated from Mater Dei High School and then Evansville College – now known as UE -- in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

She then earned a Masters in Chemistry Education from the University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Management from Purdue University.

UE says Price leaves a powerful legacy of excellence and opportunity.

Her decades of service to the university include serving on the UE Board of Trustees since 1995 and being recognized with both the UE Medal of Honor and the Alumni Association's Edie Bates Volunteer Service Award.
