Work has begun to make a former bank building the temporary home of Red Bank Library. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library says Red Bank Express will open soon in the former Liberty Federal Credit Union branch next door to the old Red Bank.
The library closed in December and is being rebuilt.
The agency says the temporary space will offer library services and resources until the new Red Bank opens.
Officials say staff members have begun interior work and will move a portion of materials from Red Bank into the space.
A drop box to return borrowed materials is already available at Red Bank Express.
Officials say the rebuilt library off Red Bank Road will be larger.
It’s the next step in the EVPL’s Master Facilities Plan.
