Vanderburgh County Coroner Bryan Underwood says Paxton Craig, 10, and Jeramya Craig, 14, died in the late night blaze on Powell Avenue in Evansville

We now know the names of the two children killed in a house fire in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 10-year-old Paxton Craig and 14-year-old Jeramya Craig.

They died at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital following the blaze at 604 Powell Avenue early Sunday morning.

A third child was flown to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition.

Evansville Fire Department Deputy Chief Kim Garrett says the first firefighters arrived on the scene three minutes after receiving the call from a passerby:

oq: three juveniles)

Garrett says the parents of the children were not home at the time.

She was also not aware of any working smoke alarms in the two-story house.

Garrett says the blaze started on the first floor and spread to the second story but a cause has not been determined.

Firefighters found one child downstairs and two more upstairs.
