A familiar face has been elected president of the EVSC Board of Trustees. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Evansville Vanderburgh school board chose Mike Duckworth, Sr. to lead the panel.
Duckworth has served 26 non-consecutive years on the EVSC board and it’s the sixth time he’s held the president’s position.
The board elected some newer faces as officers.
Melissa Moore, who was elected to the board in 2022, will serve as vice president.
Amy DeVries, who was elected to the board in 2024, will serve as secretary.
The seven members of the school board are elected by the citizens of Evansville and Vanderburgh County.
The EVSC is the third largest school district in the state of Indiana, serving more than 21-thouaand students.
