Deaconess Health has joined other providers in temporarily limiting visitors. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Deaconess says the restrictions are in response to a steady increase in flu activity and RSV.
Deaconess says its restrictions include no visitors with symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, headache, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, or runny nose.
Also, visitors under the age of 16 will not be allowed.
Deaconess says visitors should check the hospital’s website or call the facility in advance to learn more about specific restrictions and possible exceptions.
Deaconess facilities with temporary visitor restrictions include Gateway Hospital, Midtown Hospital, and Crosspointe.
The move follows Ascension St. Vincent announcing its visitor restrictions.
The hospitals are part of the Community Patient Safety Coalition of Southwest Indiana and Kentucky.
