The city of Owensboro is receiving more than one-million dollars for railroad infrastructure. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Governor Andy Beshear says the Owensboro Riverport received one-point-one million dollars to construct an access road and an additional storage and loading area.
The 41-thousand-700 square feet of concrete will increase storage space and provide needed space for loading and unloading railcars.
Riverport President and CEO Brian Wright says the Owensboro facility is honored to receive the grant and looks forward to supporting “industrial growth and job creation in western Kentucky.”
The funding for Owensboro reflects more than a third of the nearly three- million dollars in grants announced by Gov. Beshear on Thursday.
