You’re invited to start the New Year with a healthy hike. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says many state parks and lakes will host First Day Hikes on January 1st.
Participating parks include Harmonie State Park in Posey County, Lincoln State Park in Spencer County, and Patoka Lake in the Hoosier National Forest.
The hikes in Harmonie begin at 1 p.m., a two-mile hike at Lincoln starts at noon Central Time, and the hike at Patoka Lake starts at noon Eastern Time.
Meanwhile in Kentucky, Henderson’s Audubon State Park will host two hikes on New Year’s Day, the first starting at 11 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
All the events are part of the nationwide First Day Hikes program.
