House Fire Displaces 4 Residents

Fire chased 4 residents from a home on Taylor Avenue in Evansville Tuesday morning

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire near Downtown Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Crews were dispatched to the home in the unit block of Taylor Avenue, in the Culver neighborhood, at about 10:00 Tuesday morning.

They found a two-story home on fire.

The stubborn blaze spread to the upper floor and the attic.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to tap out fire in sub-freezing temperatures.

There was no word of any injuries but the American Red Cross was requested at the scene to help four adult residents.

There was no word on how the fire started.
