The Evansville Fire Department has officially dedicated its newest frontline fire engine. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The new 2025 E-One Cyclone will be housed at Station 2 on Maxx Road and is dedicated to retired District Chief Bruce Woodward.
He served on the EFD for 33 years before retiring in 2016.
The department says the new Engine 2 is equipped with a high-powered water pump capable of moving up to 1500 gallons of water per minute.
The truck also has a 780-gallon tank that gives firefighters an immediate water supply when they arrive at a fire scene.
It also has a strong 500-horsepower engine with a heavy-duty transmission that helps the truck accelerate and respond faster.
More: EFD spokeswoman Jessica Costello says the new truck cost almost $900,000.
