The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Human Relations Commission is seeking nominations for a new project. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
It’s called the Downtown Black History Month Banner Project.
The Commission invites community members to nominate individuals whose leadership, resilience, and service have made a lasting impact in Evansville.
Mayor Stephanie Terry calls it “a powerful way to honor those who have shaped our city.”
Nominees will be considered based on contributions to the community, their positive impact on Evansville, and their legacy and influence in shaping the city’s history.
Nominations can be made here.
The nominations will be accepted through January 15th.
February is Black History Month.
