A fire early Saturday destroyed Lord's Church on Meyer St. in Evansville, IN

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a weekend fire that destroyed an Evansville church. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at the Lord’s Church in 900 block of Meyer Street, just west of First Avenue, Saturday morning.

The fire engulfed the single-story brick building and firefighters used an aerial truck to attack the blaze from above.

They doused the flames but not before parts of the building collapsed and it was believed to be a total loss.

There was no word of any injuries.

There’s also no word yet on how the fire started.

The blaze forced authorities to close a number of roads in the area for several hours.
