A Utah-based company is expected to go before the Warrick County, IN, Area Plan Commission with a proposed data center

A data center is proposed for Warrick County. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Officials from a Utah-based company are expected to go before the Warrick Area Plan Commission on Monday.

The company called Sourecolo says on its LinkedIn page that it simplifies and improves “the procurement process of data centers” and other technology services for both buyers and sellers.

The proposal has already sparked opposition by a Facebook group, calling for concerned residents to attend the plan commission meeting.

The opponents warn data centers consume enormous amounts of electricity and can drive up electric rates for residents and small businesses.

The area plan commission meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday at the Warrick County Courthouse in Boonville.
