Aurora of Evansville will conduct its annual ceremony to honor homeless residents who have died

A service honoring people who have died homeless in Evansville is planned for Thursday evening. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

Aurora of Evansville says the somber ceremony will recognize and reflect on seven homeless individuals who have died in 2025.

The group says it has counted 182 local lives lost over the past 25 years.

The service is in partnership with the National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. It begins at 5:30 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church on 3rd Street.

The service includes a candle-lighting ceremony, moments of personal reflection, and a time to remember those who are often left behind or forgotten.

Aurora will also share a live stream of the service on its Facebook page.
