The local Republican Party is backing the state’s redistricting efforts. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The Vanderburgh County GOP says redistricting can help “ensure conservative voices are heard and represented in Congress.”
The party says redistricting reflects what many want: “fair representation that reflects political realities and strengthens their impact in Washington."
Republicans currently control seven of Indiana’s nine congressional districts.
President Trump and Governor Braun are pushing for new maps that could put all nine districts in the GOP column.
The Indiana legislature is considering a redistricting plan.
