“Pete” has struck again at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Easter Seals officials say the beloved anonymous benefactor who calls himself “Pete” returned to the Rehab Center Thursday afternoon, and hid a generous holiday surprise outside the nonprofit’s headquarters on Bellemeade Avenue in Evansville.
A group of staff members followed Pete’s directions and found a gold bag with a sparkly gift box inside that held 20 one-hundred-dollar bills.
Easter Seals says the two-thousand dollar donation is the 44th the mystery donor has made to the Rehab Center since 1990.
Again this year, the donation will be used to provide gifts to children with disabilities -- and their siblings -- from disadvantaged families served by the Rehabilitation Center and Easter Seals Early Learning Center.
Officials say thanks to the combined generosity of Pete and many others in the community, more than 175 individuals served by Easter Seals will receive holiday gifts this year.
