Many of the deaths and injuries occurred at the former Eastbrook Mobile Home Park near Angel Mounds.

The storm also damaged Ellis Park and tore a path of destruction through the Newburgh area.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson notes in the years since, a granite monument and playground have been erected at the mobile home park, state legislators passed “CJ’s Law” -- named after two-year-old victim C.J. Martin – requiring weather radios be installed in new mobile homes, and local safety standards have been strengthened.
