Work on an approach to the planned I-69 bridge in Vanderburgh County, Oct. 2025

Nearly 50 more large beams are headed to Evansville for another approach to the planned I-69 bridge connecting Indiana and Kentucky

More giant concrete beams are headed to Evansville for the I-69 Bridge project. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Ohio River Crossing officials say 48 beams will be delivered and set in November for another approach to the bridge.

Project spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says the new beams range in length from 134 feet to 163 feet.

She says four beams are expected to be delivered each afternoon, starting Monday, with one beam transported per truck.

The deliveries are expected to continue through Friday, Nov. 21st.

As beams arrive, drivers can expected two rolling closures lasting five to 10 minutes each on U.S. 41 in Evansville.

Message boards along 41 will notify drivers of the closures.

The beams are being delivered from Decatur, Indiana.

Peterson says the delivery schedule is subject to change and may be adjusted due to weather.
