The Evansville Vanderburgh School Board has approved a new two-year teachers contract and a calendar for the next school year. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The new EVSC agreement with the Evansville Teachers Association includes minimum salary increases of $46,500 in the 2025–26 school year to $47,000 in 2026–27.
The maximum salaries will rise from $90,200 to $90,700.
The school board also approved new agreements with Teamsters Local 215, including bus drivers, bus attendants, custodial and maintenance employees, secretaries, and special education paraprofessionals.
The board also approved a 2026-27 school calendar.
Classes will begin August 10th and 11th for students whose last names start with K through Z, followed by A through J kids August 12th and 13th, and all students reporting August 14th.
Next year’s fall break is set for October 12th through the 16th, winter break is scheduled for December 21st through January 1st, and spring break is set for March 22nd though the 26th.
The schedule also includes three potential makeup days with classes ending May 28th, 2027.
