Fall colors in a tree in downtown Evansville, Oct. 20, 2025

The city of Evansville's leaf collection program starts Mon. Oct. 27

Another sign that fall has arrived: the city of Evansville will start collecting leaves next week. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

If you pay for trash and recycling through your water and sewer bill, Republic Services will pick up properly bagged leaves on your usual trash pickup day.

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility asks that you put the leaves in biodegradable plastic or paper leaf bags, or in containers.

They should be placed neatly by your trash cart.

Apartment complexes, mobile home communities, business and commercial customers, and utility customers who live outside the city are not eligible for the pickup.

It runs through December 12th.

The city of Evansville will pause its heavy trash pickup during the leaf collection.
