Authorities Identify Gas Leak Victims

File

The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says a carbon monoxide leak may have killed Dylan Coston, 24, of Haubstadt and injured Faith Brown, 24, of Evansville in a Ft. Branch home

Authorities have released the names of the man who died and the woman who was injured in a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Ft. Branch. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven says 24-year-old Dylan Coston of Haubstadt died and 24-year-old Faith Brown of Evansville was critically injured.

Vanoven says Brown’s condition has improved to serious but stable.

Coston and Brown were found at the bottom of basement staircase inside a home in the 200 block of Willard Street in Ft. Branch Wednesday night.

Coston was pronounced deceased at the scene, and Brown was taken to a hospital.

The sheriff described it as a “tragic accident” that remains under investigation.

Safety experts recommend carbon monoxide detectors in homes to alert residents of possible high levels of the dangerous, colorless, and odorless gas.
