The Warrick County, Indiana School Corporation is installing weapons detectors at the county's 3 high schools

Weapon detectors will be installed in Warrick County high schools. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The Warrick County School Corporation will install a 300-thousand dollar detection system at Castle, Boonville, and Tecumseh high schools -- as well as at the Warrick Pathways and Career Center.

The school corporation recently announced plans to purchase the system known as CEIA OpenGate.

Warrick Superintendent Abbie Redmon says high school principals are working with students to create demonstration videos.

She also says families of students will see a school safety presentation.

The move follows recent security concerns, including a student bringing a gun to Castle High School.

Redmon told a school board meeting everyone deserves a “safe, robust, and wonderful, educational experience.”
