A single-engine plane crashed in southern Indiana Saturday night; the pilot survived

A pilot survived the crash of a small plane in southern Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Indiana State Police received word from the Louisville airport and the FAA about a possible downed aircraft near the Orange-Lawrence County line Saturday night.

The ISP says troopers and other first responders searched through the night in the heavily wooded area until about 4:00 a.m. Sunday, when they found the aircraft in Orange County near Old Vincennes Road.

The pilot was located inside the plane with non-life-threatening injuries.

The pilot had to be carried out by stretcher.
The pilot’s identity was not released.

The ISP thanked all the agencies involved in the search and rescue.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
