Tox-Away Day set for Saturday

VCSWMD

Residents can drop off hazardous household materials on the parking lot behind Evansville's Civic Center Saturday morning

You have an opportunity to safely dispose of toxic household chemicals this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Vanderburgh County Solid Waste Management District will hold its Tox-Away Day Saturday morning.

The district says you can drop off oil-based paint, solvents and thinners, pesticides, herbicides, motor oil, antifreeze, and gasoline.

Also accepted are auto batteries and fluids, smoke detectors, fluorescent tube lights, fire extinguishers and pharmaceuticals.

The evemt cannot accept latex paint, appliances or electronics.

You’re asked to load items into your trunk or truck bed for safe unloading.

Tox-Away Day is Saturday from 8:00 am to noon in the Civic Center Parking lot at 9th & Walnut Streets in Downtown Evansville.
