Evansville firefighters battled two house fires in the span of a few hours on Thursday. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Rheinlander Avenue – on Evansville’s West Side -- at about 11:30 A.M.
They reported a “working fire” in a single-story home.
They extinguished the blaze and there was no word of any injuries.
An investigator was called to the scene to determine how the fire started.
Just five hours earlier, firefighters battled a house fire in the 1700 block of E. Franklin St.
The first unit on scene reported smoke and flames coming from the single-story house.
A preliminary search found no one inside and there was no word of any injuries.
Crews battled the blaze for about a half-hour before tapping it out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
