The facility was most recently known as the Center of Hope Church.

Owner and President Neil Woods told the gathering about the law firm’s nine-point-five million dollar renovation:

"We removed the pews and replaced them with cubicles. The school's cafeteria is now our employee lounge. Calvary Baptist Church called it Fellowship Hall. The second and third floors of the school building are now private offices. And we installed an elevator and exterior ramps to make a 1960's building A.D.A compliant and accessible."

Woods says the goal of the renovation was to preserve a place that was special to “so many before us.”

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry remembered singing in the church years ago.

At Saturday’s ribbon cutting, she also noted the importance of public and private investment:

"When the public sector invests in neighborhoods the private sector comes along. And tonight is a prime example of just that."

Woods & Woods is also celebrating its 40th anniversary in Evansville.

The firm provides legal services exclusively to veterans.
