One Dead after Fiery Crash on State Road 65

Authorities say Jacob Offerman, 35, died and another driver was injured in a crash on Indiana 65 in western Vanderburgh County

Authorities have released the name of the man killed in Tuesday's fiery crash in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 35-year-old Jacob Offerman.

He was driving an SUV that collided with a pickup truck on State Road 65 near Estate Drive late yesterday Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the pickup was able to get out of the vehicle which had caught fire.

Vanderburgh County firefighters had to extricate Offerman from the SUV.

An ambulance took both drivers to a local hospital, where Offerman died.

There was no word on the name or condition of the other driver.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
