Crews are collecting trash in Evansville again, but not recyclables. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Republic Services says trash collections resumed Wednesday, after two days of crews not crossing picket lines at both the local hauling operation and Laubscher Meadows Landfill.
Republic says the focus is on trash only for the short term.
Recycle and Heavy Trash collections are currently suspended.
Republic says any trash collections that are not completed on the regularly scheduled day should be collected, along with any extra bags placed by the cart, on the next scheduled collection day.
The picket lines went up Monday, in support of Teamsters representing workers in the Cumming, Georgia area.
