FEMA Assistance Offered to IN Storm Victims

File

FEMA is offering assistance to victims of spring storms in 23 Indiana counties

Federal assistance is available for parts of Indiana damaged by spring storms. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

FEMA has announced that its assistance will supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding from March 30th to April 9th.

The assistance is being offered to 23 counties, including Vanderburgh, Warrick and Perry.

FEMA says the help is available to the state and eligible local governments, along with certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis, for emergency work and the repair and replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms,

Joseph Cirone has been named the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the area.

Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
