Reduced state funding has cut the number of JAG classes in Indiana, including those in the southwestern part of the state. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
JAG stands for Jobs for America's Graduates, a non-profit organization that helps high school students achieve success.
Officials say they diligently advocated and fought to keep the state's support, but instead a funding cut is reducing 250 JAG programs across the state to a few dozen.
Sixteen programs in our area have been reduced to eight.
The JAG Programs that will continue include Evansville Bosse, Boonville, Princeton, Gibson Southern, Wood Memorial, Jasper, Southridge, and Vincennes Lincoln.
JAG says it’s committed to ensuring the 2025-2026 classes are the best they’ve ever been.
Any business interested in supporting the program is urged to call Breann Jones at the Southwest Indiana Workforce Board at 812-618-5396.
