Vanderburgh County Fair Starts Monday

VCSO

The Vanderburgh County (IN) Fair launches Monday, July 21, at the 4-H Fairgrounds off Boonville-New Harmony Road

The Warrick and Posey County fairs continue through Saturday (July 19th), and the Vanderburgh County Fair kicks-off on Monday (July 21). WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The 105th Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair features shows, music, rides, races, pageants, contests, exhibits, and food.

An estimated 45,000 people are expected to attend the fair off Boonville New Harmony Road.

Sheriff Noah Robinson says his office’s bicycle patrol unit will be on hand.

He urges fair-goers to watch your speed as you drive within the parking areas; be on the lookout for pedestrians and children that may dart unexpectedly from a row of cars; and be aware of farm machinery and livestock.

Robinson says the sheriff’s office will offer rides on its “Seat Belt Convincer.”

The ride simulates a 5-10 mph crash, allowing riders to experience firsthand the effectiveness of a seatbelt in preventing injury.

The sheriff also notes the potential for stormy weather.

He urges attendees to pay attention to the public address system for possible warnings and instructions.
