Nighttime closures are coming to a busy West Side street. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility says St. Joe Avenue will be closed from 6:30pm to 6:00am daily between the Lloyd Expressway and Illinois Street, starting as soon as Monday (July 21).
Utility officials say the temporary closure is needed for crews to install a new water main.
The work is expected to last five days.
Officials say they appreciate “understanding and cooperation” during the closures.
It may be a tough sell for West Siders.
The nearby Lloyd Expressway has been down to one lane between Barker Avenue and the Posey County line for several months as part of the Lloyd4U initiative.
And Wabash Avenue has been closed between the Lloyd and Illinois for several weeks for utility work.
