An investigation is underway after fire leveled a portion of the Warrick County Education Center. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Firefighters responded to the blaze at the center on State Road 261, south of Oak Grove Road, just after noon Saturday.
The Ohio Township Fire Department says crews found heavy smoke coming from the structure and began interior firefighting operations.
The department says due to the large amount of fire and a partial roof collapse, crews were evacuated from the burning building, defensive operations began, and a second alarm was called.
Officials say crews brought the blaze under control in about 90 minutes and there were no injuries.

Ohio Township says the middle section of the education center was a total loss.
Crews stopped the fire from destroying other parts of the center.
Ohio Township was assisted by Boonville, Chandler, Newburgh, and Yankeetown fire departments.
Numerous police agencies also responded.
The Warrick County School Corporation thanked all the first responders for what it called their “courageous” and “diligent” work.
The school corporation says the site is off limits during the ongoing investigation.
There’s no word on how the damage might affect the upcoming school year.
