The planned closure of the Blue Bridge in downtown Owensboro has been delayed at least a week. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Officials say the work has been postponed until next Monday, July 14th.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says crews will begin erecting signs and message boards to help notify drivers of the pending closure.
It’s expected to start Monday evening, but officials say a more specific time will be “made available prior to the closure.”
The Transportation Cabinet says it’s limiting the bridge closure to 90 days or less.
American Contracting and Services will replace the aging deck on the bridge, which is officially known as the Glover Cary Bridge.
It has connected downtown Owensboro and Spencer County, Indiana since 1940.
