Ivy Tech in Evansville has been awarded a “purple star.” WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
The award comes from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs,
It recognizes postsecondary institutions that provide “outstanding support to U.S. military-affiliated students, including veterans, active-duty service members and their families.”
Ivy Tech Evansville Chancellor Daniela Vidal says it’s an honor to win the award.
She says Ivy Tech’s commitment to military-affiliated students is embedded in the community college’s mission.
Vidal says the recognition affirms ongoing efforts to ensure “academic success and career readiness.”
The designation is valid for three years.
