The Reitz Home Museum has a new leader. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The Reitz Home Board of Trustees has chosen Joseph Lutz as the museum’s next Executive Director.
Lutz has been serving as the Museum’s Curator since his hiring last June.
Board President Jennifer Stevens says Lutz has proven his “love and dedication to the Reitz Home Museum over the last year.”
Stevens says Lutz has worked diligently to develop a comprehensive inventory assessment of the museum’s treasured assets, while also doubling the number of active docents.
Prior to joining the Reitz Home Museum, Lutz served in the Peace Corps in Moldova where he served as a Community and Organizational Development Advisor.
He also provided technical assistance to the Jewish History Museum of Moldova.
In his new role at the Reitz Home, Lutz says he looks forward to “expanding the museum’s relevance in the community.”
The historic Victorian home is at First and Chestnut streets.
Lutz replaces former Executive Director Natalie Singer, who is now Director of Sponsorships and Giving at the EVSC Foundation and a member of the Reitz Home Board of Trustees.
