The University of Evansville has announced a new chairman of the board. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The UE Board of Trustees says Dr. William "Bill" Johnson has been elected as the next Chair.
Johnson is a UE alumnus who has worked as a leader in both higher education and the financial services industry.
He will replace Chairman Bob Jones following four years of what UE calls “exceptional service” from the former Old National Bank Chairman and CEO.
The university praised Jones for helping UE emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing new academic programs, making philanthropic advancements, embracing UE and Evansville community partnerships, and establishing the UE Mental Health and Wellness Clinic and the Emily M. Young Assessment Center.
Both Bob and Lisa Jones received honorary degrees in May.
Dr. Johnson is a 1982 graduate of the University of Evansville.
He’s currently a professor of leadership and practice in the College of Leadership and Public Service at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
UE says Johnson brings nearly four decades of leadership in higher education, financial services, and public service.
