Authorities urge ROMP-goers to stay safe and hydrated during the music festival in Owensboro, KY

ROMP 2025 is underway and authorities are urging festival-goers to stay safe in the heat and humidity. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The music festival runs through Saturday at Yellow Creek Park on Owensboro’s East Side.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office urges everyone to stay hydrated and use sunscreen -- as a Heat Advisory continues.

Officials also urge festival-goers to remain weather-aware for the possibility of thunderstorms this weekend.

Parents with children are asked to keep an eye on their kids at all times and take a picture of your children each day.

Dogs must remain on a leash and officials say make sure they stay cool and hydrated as well.

If you drive a vehicle in the park, authorities urge you to be alert to pedestrians.

ROMP began Wednesday night and shifts into full gear Thursday with performers including the Del McCurry Band, Molly Tuttle, and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country.
