Drivers can expect big changes on the East Lloyd Expressway this week, weather permitting. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:
The Indiana Department of Transportation says prep work is scheduled to start along the Lloyd at Cross Pointe Boulevard and Burkhardt Road.
Displaced left turns are planned at each intersection and interior lane closures will be in place while crews remove concrete medians.
Meanwhile, left turns from eastbound Lloyd to northbound Stockwell Road will be temporarily blocked as crews prepare to open the redesigned Stockwell intersection.
The switch could happen as soon as Wednesday. Law enforcement officers will be on the site to help drivers navigate the new design.
Eastbound motorists wanting to go north on Stockwell will enter left turn lanes shortly after crossing Vann Avenue, and well before the main intersection.
Meanwhile, westbound drivers wanting to go south on Stockwell will enter the left turn lane after the Stockwell intersection.
Official urge drivers to pay attention to signs and pavement markings to avoid missing your opportunity to turn left.
INDOT says all the work depends on the weather and rain is in the forecast through Thursday.
