An Emmy-winning TV producer, author, poet, and frequent guest on NPR visits Evansville this Thursday evening. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Kwame Alexander will make a free presentation at the Victory Theatre as part of the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library’s SPEAK series.
The free event starts at 7 p.m.
Alexander‘s Newberry Medal-winning novel The Crossover has been turned into a Disney-Plus TV series.
He’s also the creator of the PBS series, Acoustic Rooster’s Barnyard Band, and the author of such bestsellers as Why Fathers Cry at Night, How Sweet the Sound, and J versus K.
Alexander has also been a frequent contributor on NPR’s Morning Edition.
At the Victory Thursday night, the EVPL will also showcase original poetry by local students in grades K-through-12.
The SPEAK series grew out of the previous One Book, One Community program.
