Flood waters have receded enough for Burdette Park to reopen. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The park on Evansville’s West Side says it’s reopened to the public following a temporary closure.
While Burdette has resumed general operations, officials say a few temporary adjustments remain in place to ensure safety.
The main entrance and exit to the park remain closed due to lingering floodwaters.
Visitors are asked to enter the park via the Discovery Lodge entrance until further notice.
The Anchor Playground also remains closed for now.
Guests who have upcoming events scheduled for the park and are concerned about potential impacts from the flooding are encouraged to contact the Burdette Park office at 812-435-5602.
