Author to Tell Story of Heroes in the Holocaust

Ralph Shayne's mother was rescued from the Nazi genocide by everyday citizens

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library’s Speak series continues tomorrow (Wed) night. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

Ralph Shayne is the next author in this year’s series.

Shayne is the author of Hour of Need, telling the story of how a Danish Jewish family—which included his mother—was rescued from the Holocaust through the actions of everyday citizens.

The graphic novel pays tribute to the heroes who saved Danish Jews, and reminds readers of how humanity can triumph in the darkest hours.

Shayne will discuss his writing and his research.

The free presentation is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Victory Theatre.
