The University of Evansville is calling a half-million dollar donation “transformational.” WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
UE says the gift from Emeritus Trustee Steve Harkness will provide enduring support for “established endowed scholarships.”
The university says Harkness’s lifetime giving includes nearly $1.2 million for scholarships, capital projects, and operational funding.
UE says Harkness has designated the gift to benefit five endowed scholarships named in memory and in honor of family and loved ones.
Harkness earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from UE in 1970 and later a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.
He retired as President of Duke Energy Generation Services but has remained actively involved with UE during his retirement.
