The Ohio is expected to drop below flood stage at Evansville this Friday, April 18th

The Ohio River has crested in the Evansville area and is beginning to fall. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:

The river crested just shy of 48 feet at Evansville over the weekend and is forecast to drop below flood stage on Friday.

The river crested at Newburgh just shy of 51 feet and is expected to drop below flood stage this Saturday.

The Ohio at Mt. Vernon was forecast to crest today (Mon) at 50 feet and is expected to drop below flood stage next Monday.

Even as rivers fall, authorities remind motorists that many roads are still closed by high water and/or flood debris.

You’re urged to not drive around barricades and never drive into standing water.
