The City of Evansville is again asking volunteers to help clean up a city park this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Evansville “Parks Squad” invites residents to Wesselman Park this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
The city says the one-hour cleanup will begin in front of the Par 3 bathroom shelter, where gloves and trash bags will be provided.
Volunteers will work their way through the park, cleaning up trash, debris, and performing some light landscaping.
Mayor Stephanie Terry says the city has been fortunate to have so many people participate in the effort, and to partner with Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Terry says the business has stocked the Parks Squad trailer with supplies that will be a huge help at all the future park squad events.
Members of the public can join the Parks Squad simply by volunteering on Saturday.
