If you’d like to have a say in Evansville’s next city budget, you may want to mark April 15th on your calendar. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
Mayor Stephanie Terry is inviting residents to a Community Budget Forum at EVPL Central Library.
Terry says the forum will begin with a short presentation about the budget process, and how city officials decide to allocate funds.
Attendees will then break into groups for moderated discussions about their priorities for funding in the 2026 spending plan.
Terry says when her administration went through its first budget process last year, public input often came too late — after the budget was presented to the City Council.
She says her administration wants to change that by creating opportunities for real dialogue early in the process.
The budget forum is set for Tuesday, April 15th, at 5:30 p.m. in the Browning Room at Central Library.
