Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear visited Owensboro Monday to help break ground on an expansion of a major pasta sauce maker. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
Leaders and company officials celebrated the start of Mizkan America’s 156-million dollar expansion that will create 44 new jobs.
The 320-thousand square feet expansion will bring the company’s operational space to nearly one-million square feet at it site on Ragu Drive, just east of Downtown Owensboro.
Mizkan America CEO Koichi Yuki says the Owensboro factory has been in business for almost 50 years and makes about one-million jars of pasta sauce every day.
Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson says the city is “incredibly proud” to have Mizkan as part of the community.
Gov. Beshear says he looks forward to the company’s continued success in Kentucky.
