A bar in Evansville’s Jimtown neighborhood is closing its doors. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The owner of Doc’s says the bar’s last call will be on April 7th, when the championship game of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is played.
The big game will be on multiple TV screens inside the establishment at 1305 Stringtown Road, a space that decades ago was home to doctor’s offices.
In a Facebook post, owner Joshua Pietrowski – known to friends as “Big Cat” – noted the past few summers at Doc’s have been daunting, even brutal.
He says the bar usually trudges through summer until football season, when business picks up.
But Pietrowski says this year, it doesn’t look like the math is going to work out.
He says employees will be offered positions at Kipplee’s and at a new establishment Pietrowski owns, Patsy Hartigan’s Irish Pub.
